The Klinic finds a new home

A private allied health practice specialising in exercise physiology and pilates has moved into the former Pour Mes Amis shop on the corner of South and Hovell Sts, Wodonga.

The Klinic owner and exercise physiologist Erin Glass said the business had outgrown its previous location in High St.

“We had been operating in High St, above Chicken Stop, for the past two years and that studio was a wonderful place to grow our business and gain the reputation we have today,” she said.

“We have expanded and moved into our new location, and we are so excited about our new studio.”

Miss Glass was fortunate to have the help of her brother, Bailey Glass from BLG Constructions and Concreting, who was the lead builder on the project.

“It’s very handy having a builder in the family, so a big thank you to him for being so great at organising other local trades and building the beautiful new home for the Klinic,” she said.

The new building has two separate studios and two treatment rooms.

“Our motto at the Klinic is, movement is medicine, as we are passionate about seeing everyone move no matter their age, gender or fitness level,” Miss Glass said.

Exercise physiologists are university trained allied health professionals who use exercise prescription to manage chronic conditions and pain, rehab from injury and/or surgery, and can help achieve a particular fitness goal or just get people back moving.

In addition to exercise physiology, the Klinic is a boutique pilates studio offering group reformer classes for all levels - over 55s, over 70s, pre and post-natal pilates and circuit-style mat and reformer pilates.

“We offer classes six days a week and keep our classes small, so you’ll never feel lost in the crowd, and we can modify exercises to you,” Miss Glass said.

The Klinic has four instructors - Chloe Breewel, Tash Symons, Racquel Stevens and Molly Parnell - who are passionate about pilates and love to challenge their clients to build their strength and mobility.

“I also have my mum, Carmen, on reception and doing all the bookkeeping and she is so good behind the scenes, and I honestly couldn’t do what I do without her,” Miss Glass said. Miss Glass said Wodonga is home for her and believes it’s a “great little city that has come a long way, with so much more to offer”.

“With more and more retail and hospitality options, Wodonga will only continue to grow,” she said.

Since April 2020, the business has been teaching online classes to stay connected with clients and keep them moving during lockdowns. Miss Glass was nervous, at first, to teach online.

“I’ve now taught nearly 250 classes, so it becomes second nature,” she said.

Current restrictions mean group classes remain closed, but the business is now open for exercise physiology appointments and continues to offer classes daily for online mat pilates.

“We look forward to celebrating our beautiful new studio with a grand opening when gyms reopen and restrictions lift further, so keep your eye out on social media for grand opening details,” Miss Glass said.
